BIG Cycle

Saddle up for the 2012 BIG cycle, at the launch of the at the launch of the 2011 Kerry Bicycle Festival Jimmy Dennihan Minister for Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht said ‘If there are 9 million bicyles in Bejing, surely we can have a thousand here in Tralee.”

Can the town of Tralee take up his challenge and get a thousand cyclists out for the Big Cycle which takes place on Saturday 22nd at 3pm, as part of the Kerry Bicycle Festival 2012.

Plus September the 22nd is international car free day so no excuses !

So calling on everyone to get oil up those chains and tighten up those breaks and get those old bikes out of the shed and on to the streets of Tralee. This cycle will be fully supervised, and will have a ‘Cycle Garda’ Escort. Fancy dress and bright colours are welcome!

The route for this cycle is through Tralee town center out to Blennerville where there will be a short break before heading back into town. This is a very leisurely cycle and cyclists of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join in, no-oneĀ  will be left behind !
